Facebook Ticker Facebook Ticker: How To Blocking

Facebook Ticker is a new feature added on Facebook today, and it seems that a live feed of the entire operation on behalf of your friend in the sidebar and application sidebar. Facebook Ticker is very similar to the live Twitter feed options, which are updated at a time where your friend likes the photo comments, befriends someone clicks on a link, share stories, or anything for that matter.

Facebook allows users to adjust the new ticker window, according to their size and also their right to privacy. But the Facebook community has a lot of negative comments on the new Facebook Ticker, and most of them want to cancel or terminate your account. Most say that Facebook ticker feature is ridiculous and annoying that Facebook has not received. This debate within the Community on Facebook, show me how to remove the new Facebook Ticker updates. We had two choices in Block Facebook Ticker. watch one at a time.

Option 1 block Facebook Ticker

  • Download and install Google Chrome or Firefox Web browser on your computer
  • Install “AdBlock Plus” add-on for Firefox and Chrome
  • Now prefer Adblock Plus now and click on “Add Filter”.
  • To remove the new “Facebook Ticker” paste: apps.facebook.com # # DIV [class = "homeFixedTicker"] and to eliminate “the Facebook application Ticker” Add to: DIV apps.facebook.com # # [class = "fixedAux"] and click OK

Option 2 to block Facebook Ticker

You do not have the time. Please note that this is a third-party scripts, and usually is not recommended to use these options, but it all depends on you.

You’re done. Ticker is held by the New Facebook account and the application site has been blocked now.

** PRELUDE: I apologize if this comment gets posted twice or thrice. My dying router keeps dropping the connection! :( A friend will be installing a new router for me & re-setting up my home network Friday. **

Thanks for all the good info. :) However, those AdBlock Plus filters don’t work now that Facebook made massive changes. :( At least not in Firefox 6.0.

The “fixedAux” one I’ve been running for the past 3 or 4 weeks and it worked PERFECTLY for blocking the obnoxious App Ticker all this time! :D Well, until yesterday (Sept. 20), when Facebook created a brand-new version of the App Ticker. Then the ABP filter was no longer able to block it.

So, I added the “homeFixedTicker” filter to my ABP, as you suggested above. Then I closed Firefox, restarted the computer, re-opened Firefox and came back to Facebook. I’m sorry to say the “homeFixedTicker” filter is NOT working. :( The ticker is still on my homepage. PLEASE let us know if there are additional ABP filters we can try. Thanks!

    Miserably,
    And hating Facebook,

P.S. to my prior comment. I decided to install Grease Money for Firefox. Then I followed the instructions for installing the “block Facebook ticker script” in Grease Monkey. I quit the browser, re-opened it, and signed back on Firefox. Even the Grease Monkey solution is NOT working! :( Do you think it’s possible that Facebook is able to prevent both AdBlockPlus AND Grease Monkey from doing their blocking? I had such high hopes for this, but so far nothing is working! :( I’m beginning to think I should deactivate my Facebook account until things get better.

Please let us know if there is ANYTHING else we can try, whether it’s another filter for ABP, another script for Grease Monkey, or something else completely. Thank you.

    Cheers,
    Shari in California

I don’t particularly have a problem with the appearance of the new facebook ticker on my homepage. i’m inclined to have it removed. my question is, if I use one of the many options to block or remove facebook ticker from my homepage, will everyone else still be able to view content related to me on their ticker? it’s my content being displayed to everyone that i have the problem with.

  • TechnoLife

Of course Mr. Desmond. Your feed or content will always look at the display of your friends if your friends not eliminate the ticker on their homepage. This option is only for those who feel disturbed by these new features. Facebook has many features, one of which is the ticker. For those who are not bothered that it does not matter, but for those who are disturbed by this feature, of course they look for ways to eliminate them. Many Pros and Cons about this new feature of facebook. Maybe this is just a few moments, over time, Facebook users certainly will be familiar with this feature.
